Earlier this year, Justin Kelly walked into his local World Finance branch in Macon, Missouri, just as he had many times before. But this time was different.
On this branch visit, Justing learned about the the company’s 60th Anniversary Sweepstakes. He entered the on the spot.
The sweepstakes was a months-long celebration, running from April through December. Each month, participants entered to win. And each month, several winners were drawn for a $2,000 gift card.
60 years of community
World’s 60th Anniversary Sweepstakes is just one of the ways we have celebrated World’s 60 years as the financial parter with heart. We’re proud to be anchored in hundreds of communities just like Justin’s, and we set out to spread the 60th anniversary celebrations throughout those communities.
Every community has needs beyond the financial, so our team members took to their towns to volunteer in various ways. Each full time team member at World has 8 paid volunteer hours each year, and this year they put those hours to very good use. In all, team members devoted over 4,000 hours to their communities, averaging 68 volunteer hours per day.
Birthday bash
Although we celebrated all year long, World’s actual birthday was on July 8. Branches across the country showed out, bringing the party in their own ways, with their own special twists.
Team members in each community branch are who make World unique, and no two branches are the same. For our birthday, the branches decorated and brought treats and made the day extra special to everyone who walked through the doors.
And because they do the most to make customers feel at home, we took time to give team members chances to win contests and prizes, too.
The Sweepstakes
While internal contests kept team members celebrating, the 60th Anniversary Sweepstakes focused on World’s valuable customers – like Justin. In honor of the communities we serve, we set out to give away 60 big prizes to the public in a months-long celebration, running from April through December. Each month, participants entered to win. And each month, several winners were drawn for a $2,000 gift card.
A few weeks after Justin entered to win the sweepstakes, he got a call: he had been randomly selected as a winner of one of the $2,000 gift cards.
“I was ecstatic. The news couldn’t have come at a better time,” said Justin.
Justin’s son was recently in California training to be a United States Marine. Justin was hoping to travel to California to celebrate his son’s graduation, and the anniversary sweepstakes gave him the funds to make it happen.
“The people at World Finance always welcome you with open arms, Justin said. “I prefer to go there for my lending needs rather than anywhere else.”
When we look back on our 60th anniversary – and on the 60 years that brought us there – that’s what we’re the most proud of. Being a place that welcomes people with open arms, that helps people unlock their financial good.
