For Breast Cancer fighters, survivors, and allies, October is not just another month. It’s Pinktober – a month to paint completely pink, spotlighting survivor stories, remembering loved ones, and increasing awareness of Breast Cancer and it’s affects.
At World, we are proud to participate in Breast Cancer Awareness month. Our CEO, Chad Prashad, is taking his support a step further this year as an ambassador for the Real Men Wear Pink campaign. “I am a proud partner with the American Cancer Society’s Real Men Wear Pink campaign,” Prashad shares, “I’ve pledged to wear pink every day this month in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness.”
In their lifetime, 1 in 8 American women will develop breast cancer, making it the most common cancer in American women. This cold, sobering statistic drives the American Cancer Society to continually battle Breast Cancer, raising awareness and funds through campaigns like Real Men Wear Pink.
As a Real Men Wear Pink ambassador, Chad Prashad uses his platform to join the American Cancer Society in its cancer-fighting efforts. “I’m in a position to make a difference within my community, I believe I have an obligation to do so.” This year, Prashad has raised over $17,000 and counting – well beyond the $2,500 goal.
“Every day, the American Cancer Society is saving more lives from breast cancer than ever before,” Prashad shares, “they’re helping people take steps to reduce their risk of breast cancer or find it early, when it’s easier to treat.”
